Description

In the course of this particular sightseeing tour we will introduce Prague (UNESCO) as a historic and architectonic jewel of Central Europe. Our guide will be whole time with you explaining the history of Prague and its neighborhoods (Old Town, New Town, Lesser Town, Hradčany) during the bus trip. The second part of the tour will take you to Prague Castle where you together visit the interior of this most important sight of Prague, the St. Vitus Cathedral. After approx. 60 minutes of guided walking tour you go on to the bank of the Vltava River to get on board of a boat where you take rest and relax admiring the beauties of Prague from a different view. Besides other bridges connecting both the river banks you will see the well-known Charles Bridge from the boat. Relaxed, you will continue with a pleasant walk through the Jewish Town to the Old Town Square (Prague Astronomical Clock – Orloj, Týn Church) where the tour ends.

Mary's Recommends! Why?

We have just tried this tour by ourselves. Here is a brief summary, why we offer it, and to whom.

From Mary’s tried by: Kamila, 2011-08-15

I've just spent few hours with nice and friendly people of different nationalities. I've never realized how beautiful Prague can be from board of a boat! I must say that we saw the most important parts of Prague and it would be definitely worth it to go back and discover them more in details :)

Pros:

  • The tour started at 10.00 by short-circuit in New and Old Town in air-conditioned bus, which was ideal for such sunny and warm day :) I was surprised that our guide Martin was leading the tour in 2 languages – both English and Spanish (as there were 6 Spanish and 10 English speaking people). I was glad because I've just started to learn Spanish, so it was a good practise!
  • After 30 minutes the driver dropped us off at Prague Castle, the greatest monument in Prague. Martin showed us on the map into which parts the Prague Castle is divided and then we went to see personally St.Vitus Cathedral and to enjoy a beautiful view on Prague.
  • At 11:00 we even had a chance to see official change guards, I got close enough to take photos from details! :)
  • As the bus was waiting for us at 11:45 to take us on the boat, we hurried to catch it, believe me, it was kind of adventure in such crowd! But it was worth it, I was looking forward to going on the boat from the very beginning and I still consider it as the best part of the tour :) It's so relaxing to enjoy Prague in a calm.
  • At 13:00 we walked to Old Town Square, Martin was making jokes on our way, and I was a little sad that after 3,5 hours the whole thing was over.

Cons – notes:

  • I think that for majority of our group it was difficult to follow the presentation in the bus in 2 languages. There were no traffic jams and the driver wasn't driving slowly enough, so sometimes before the guide managed to name and describe the building in the second language, we had already passed it. So nobody catched exactly which one it was. But usually the tour is in one language, so this should not be a problem.
  • Prague Castle was so crowded! But it's mainly because of top touristic season.

In the bus on our way to Prague Castle Our group taking photos from the bus at the whole beginning The main entrance to Prague Castle Martin with a map explaining what we can find at Prague Castle Close shot of change guards Our group in front of St.Vitus Cathedral Nice view on sunny Prague Our boat At the front of our boat Getting closer to Charles bridge on the boat Passing Charles bridge on the boat Walking from the boat to Old Town Square Short stop in front of the Old-New Synagogue Parizska Street, the most expensive one in Prague Romantic Old Town Square Astronomical clock at Old Town Square
