The nostalgic tram line no. 91
31.10.2013, Maria Jagerova
The Prague Public Transport prepared for all lovers of the old times and history the special attraction – the ride by the historical tram.
The 30-45 minute ride will take you through some of Prague’s most recognizable sights.
The tram follows this line: Vozovna Stresovice – Brusnice – Prazsky hrad – Kralovsky letohradek – Malostranska – Malostranske namesti – Hellichova – Ujezd – Narodni divadlo – Narodni trida – Lazarska – Vodickova – Vaclavske namesti – Jindrisska – Masarykovo nadrazi – Namesti republiky – Dlouha trida – Nabrezi Kapitana Jarose – Strossmayerovo namesti – Veletrzni – Vystaviste Holesovice. This line could be affected by the current traffic closures.
Passengers are allowed to get on and off at which ever of the stops along the way that they choose, but once one leaves the tram, the ticket loses its validity.
The best thing for many about the Nostalgic Tram is its authenticity, it is really an original old tram and not some kind of reproduction or creation. The seats in the carriages are all wooden and tickets on the tram are sold by a traditionally dressed conductor, who stays on board for the duration of each trip. Another fascinating addition is the old time bell that announces each stop being reached and departure being begun.
Special Historical Tram Tours or sightseeing trams are available for group hire (birthdays, meetings and conferences etc). This service can be booked all year round.
