St. Wenceslas Day

St. Wenceslas Day is celebrated on September 28th every year in the Czech Republic. A prince, a saint, a patron of Czech lands, a martyr and a man of peace. These attributes have followed Wenceslas throughout the centuries and made him the most admired historical figure. His cult is ever-present.


The World Press Photo Exhibition comes to Prague again!

The World Press Photo awards is the most prestigious recognition of press photography, and from 20th September until 13th October 2013 the winning images are on display in Prague at Carolinum. The exhibition brings together the most astonishing, thought-provoking and often beautiful images published by photojournalists that year. The images range from sports and nature photography to snapshots from the frontlines of war; from staged portraits to remarkable candid shots.


Museum of Prague Alchemists and Magicians

The Donkey in the Cradle House (U osla v kolebce) where the famous alchemist Edward Kelley lived, offers a peak into the mysterious world of centuries past during the reign of Rudolf II, the world of Doctor Faustus and various magicians. Featuring an interactive exhibition of alchemist potions in the original lab. The motto of the museum is: "There are many ways leading to magic, but the only way away from it…". The only way is suggested by the legs of Doctor Faustus flying with up the Devil through the hole in the ceiling..


Prague Vineyards

Autumn is just round the corner. This time of the year is ideal to explore the vineyards and wine cellars. Probably nobody would expect vineyards in the middle of Prague but they are here and they even have a long tradition. The exhibition, which was created by the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence, is commemorating the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death. The collection includes Monroe's dresses, shoes, photographs and diaries and many of them are exposed for the first time.
